Leave a charitable legacy

By making a bequest or leaving a legacy gift in your Will to CINI UK, you can help make a lasting difference to the lives of future generations. However much you decide to give the charity, you will not have to pay any inheritance tax on your gift.

Once you have accounted for family and friends, it would be wonderful if you could leave the world a better place by remembering CINI UK in your Will. This will make a lasting stand against the injustice of poverty - for this generation and for generations to come. You can provide mothers and children from disadvantaged families in India with the long-term support they need to lift themselves out of hardship.

Will Aid: Write your will for free

Every November, Will Aid is offering the opportunity for you to have your Will drawn up professionally by a solicitor free of charge. Instead of paying the usual fee that the solicitor would normally charge, you will be invited to make a donation to charity.

Whether or not you choose to leave a gift to the CINI UK, it’s important to keep an up-to-date will, to protect your loved ones and make sure your wishes are carried out.

For more information please email Anna on annataylor@cini.org.uk

Cost examples:

  • £1,000 is enough to pay for the salary of a counsellor who helps children living and working at Azimgamj railway station receive support from CINI’s drop-in centre, which weans them away from work, and provides for their education, health, nutrition and recreational needs.
  • £5,000 is enough to provide 300 severely malnourished children and their carers, with the food they need whilst they are recuperating at the Emergency Ward and Nutrition Rehabilitation Centre
  • £10,000 is enough to cover the costs of providing 65 out of school children, aged 9-14 years, who are most at risk of becoming child labourers, with intensive educational support at CINI’s education camps for a year. The main objective is to mainstream children into local schools
  • £50,000 is enough to cover the cost of a programme to support poor communities in securing their rights to education, health, nutrition and protection. This will help nearly 10,000 people over a period of five years

Making a will

Even if your will is very simple, it is generally advisable to use a solicitor to draw it up. It is possible to get a will-making kit from stationers and to do it yourself, but the risk can be a will that does not work as you would have hoped - for example, if it doesn't cater for unexpected future circumstances or is not tax efficient.
